Biking the NCR/Heritage Rail Trail
This weekend all of our guests were here to ride bikes on the rail trail. Did you know that it starts in Ashland, MD as the NCR Trail, runs north for 20 miles to the PA line, at which point it becomes the Heritage Rail Trail...? Then it continues another 23 miles into PA (goes right past the Jackson House Bed and Breakfast) all the way into the city of York, PA. Along the way there are rivers, woods, farms, little towns, Hanover Junction (where Lincoln stopped on his way to Gettysburg!), and the Howard Tunnel.
Summer Sounds at Naylor Winery!
Naylor Winery nearby has a great Summer Sounds program featuring a different big band playing under their pavilion every weekend throughout the summer. Put your dancing shoes on and come on out....you can bring food, birthday cakes, tablecloths etc. and, of course, Naylor's Wine and great food is available there too. See http://www.naylorwine.com for the Summer Sounds schedule and details!
150th Anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg
The Jackson House is hopping this week with all the Civil War re-enacters here for the big celebration in Gettsyburg! We are used to being really busy on weekends but it's great to have so many guests here during the week too. Can't wait to get some photos of folks in their Civil War regalia and will post it!

Dance Under the Stars!
Summer Sounds starts on July 6th and continues every Saturday thoughout July and August at Naylor's Winery. Dance to big band music, enjoy a BBQ dinner, and sip Naylor's wine. Feel free to bring birthday cakes, tablecloths, Uncle Harry...or just dance the night away with your sweetheart. A great way to spend an evening!
